A Continental flavour this week, as we learn about some knockout species being bred by our fellow birdkeepers in Europe. These include two gorgeous types of tanager that are producing brood after brood for one much-envied Italian fancier. Staying in Italy, we enjoy a personal account of the famous annual show at Cesena, where UK judges are traditionally welcome and a feast of showbirds takes the breath away ever year. From Budgieland we have a happy tale about a new recruit to the fancy, plus a cautionary one about how not to prepare for the breeding season.
