What's in the issue

By dealing with 100 years of wheeled armoured vehicles, you could accuse us of allowing issue number 11 of Kelsey's Military Trucks Archive to stray a little off topic. Nevertheless, there's plenty here to interest the military-vehicle enthusiast. We start with the primitive armoured cars of WW1, manufactured by the likes of Austin, Lanchester and Rolls-Royce, before moving on to the high points of WW2 which include the Daimler Dingo; the Daimler, Humber and AEC armoured cars; and the Coventry which, sadly, came too late for production. Low points embrace the woeful Beaverette. Looking at the post-war years, we cover the hugely-successful Daimler Ferret and the somewhat less than successful Humber Pig, whilst also describing the Royal Ordnance Factory's Fox, and the six-wheeled Alvis Saracen and Saladin. And, finally, the story is brought right up-to-date with armoured vehicles produced by GKN, Force Protection, Navistar and Supacat... not forgetting the Land Rover Snatch patrol vehicle.
