MGF & MGTF The Ultimate Guide
The two-seat MGF roadster launched in 1995, was a new sports car that embodied everything that MG stood for: it was stylish and affordable but, above all, it was fun. Healthy sales saw the MGF quickly establish itself as the UK’s best selling sports car, with over 77,000 cars sold over a production run that lasted until 2002.
In 2002 the MGF was replaced by the MGTF, a prudent update that included sharper styling and improved suspension. The MGTF enjoyed its own sales success and, despite the collapse of MG Rover in 2005, continued to be built in China, assembled at Longbridge and sold in modified form until finally being laid to rest in 2011.
Produced by the publishers of MG Enthusiast, the world’s best selling MG magazine, the Collectors’ Edition is a 100-page celebration of the MGF and MGTF, charting their history and examining both models in detail including: feature cars, buying guides and restoration advice.
With prices still low and supplies plentiful, there has never been a better time to take the MG plunge and put the fun back into driving.
