When compiling their list of best buys, many magazines make the mistake of focusing on the cheapest cars available. Doing so has the somewhat obvious effect of contradicting the

point of the exercise — a cheap car isn’t necessarily a good buy, let alone the best. Granted, none of us wants to pay over the odds, but in terms of value for money, as well as maximising ownership and driving experiences, it usually pays to buy the very best example of your favoured chariot you can stretch to, as opposed to the one offering itself at the lowest price.

Of course, if you can achieve all of this and get away with bagging a bargain, then all power to you, but in this issue of 911 & Porsche World, we’ve set our sights on the Porsches we think offer the best bang for your buck in the year ahead, as opposed to those you can buy at rock-bottom prices. This isn’t to say we’ve neglected to consider cars to suit different budgets, but our primary focus has been smiles to the mile, presenting a wide range of cars guaranteed to bring major enjoyment to your time behind the wheel, whether they’re modern classics or products from Porsche’s current range of sports cars.
