06 Riding with Robust
When Colin Morgan decided to fully restore his 1973 Borderer into a head-turning period outfit, he knew its original W&J Riding colours, fleet number and distinctive ‘Robust’ name, would have to be incorporated into his personalised livery. Bob Tuck travels to Airdrie to admire this much-travelled Atkinson and absorb the sound of its distinctive Cummins engine.

With the remarkable success of the Bedford TK following its introduction in 1960, it is perhaps understandable that other new vehicles introduced during the early 1960s were perhaps somewhat overshadowed. While the TK made such an impact in the medium weight commercial market, the company was also to turn its attention to filling a perceived gap in the market for a small commercial van.
